She can sell you cab coupons, the UCB t-shirts, screwdriver/hammers, 20/20 pens, signature guides, and the braille measuring spoons and cups. You can pay your membership at the office and make reservations for the activities. These purchases can also be made by calling Tina at 801 245-9264 to pay by credit card. Also, Adrienne Clayton keeps the office open from 10:00am to 12:30pm on Fridays. This class is open to any blind or visually impaired person in the state of Utah and is currently being held on Wednesdays at the Utah State Division of Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 250 N 1950 W, Salt Lake City, in room 301 from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Classes are available 40 weeks of the year. The class will be taking a break in the month of November and December, at the discretion of the instructor.

For Users of Dog Guides -Greatest Paws on Earth

Greatest Paws on Earth is an independent group of people interested in guide dogs and issues concerning them. They meet each month on the 3rd Thursday via conference call to talk about a different topic in which dog guide users may be interested. Our next meeting will be on February 20. Utah Opera invites people with visual impairment to a special dress rehearsal event of 'The Barber of Seville', By Gioachino Rossino

at The Capitol Theatre, 50 West 200 South, Salt Lake City

Charming and clever Rosina has captured the attention of two men: the older Dr. Bartolo and the wealthy Count Almaviva. Enter Seville’s barber, Figaro, who is enlisted by the Count to assist him in winning Rosina’s heart, and does so through a series of hilarious pranks and disguises.
This exciting event is offered free of charge to persons with visual impairment, plus a driver. At 6 PM, Education Director Paula Fowler and Artistic Director Christopher McBeth will describe the opera, staging, composer, costuming and sets. Props from the stage and costume samples will be available to touch and inspect up close. Then, enjoy the production with braille supertitle scripts and headsets to describe the action on stage. Appropriate for children 8+ yrs or those who can remain quiet during a working rehearsal

UCB Social

The social with fun and excitement on Saturday, April 18, 2020, held at the DSBVI. multipurpose room from 11:00am to 1:00pm. There will be pizza provided for anyone who will reserve and an alternative food for those who cannot have pizza. We will have games and just plain old fashioned fun getting to know our fellow UCB members, family, friends or neighbors.
